Pedestrian accident in Massachusetts injures 1 person

Accidents involving pedestrians are not as common as accidents between motor vehicles, but they can often be much more severe. Drivers sometimes forget about pedestrians, which can create very dangerous situations for all parties involved. Pedestrians are very vulnerable in these situations, and can many times be left with serious injuries or even loss of life. A woman from Massachusetts was seriously injured recently in a pedestrian accident.

The woman was hit by a car around 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 16. She was trying to cross the road near an intersection at the time of the accident. Following the incident, she was transported to a nearby Boston hospital with serious injuries.

The victim was reportedly still in the hospital in critical condition on Oct. 18, two days following the accident. The driver of the car has not been cited, but the accident is still under investigation. This was said to be the 57th pedestrian accident that has occurred in Massachusetts this year, which is actually 20 percent lower than the number at this time last year. However, this statistic means that almost one pedestrian accident has occurred each week so far this year.

The woman who received injuries from this pedestrian accident may want to seek monetary reimbursement for her injuries. If restitution is awarded through the Massachusetts legal system, it could be used to pay any medical bills that the woman accrued after the accident. Additionally, a successful litigation of such a claim could help the woman after she is released from the hospital, if she is unable to work for a period of time. This could also relieve the injured woman of any financial burden caused by the accident, and allow her to focus on recovering.
