3-vehicle accident injures Massachusetts resident

According to a local news source, a multi-vehicle accident on Washington Street in Holliston injured one of the motorists involved on July 9. The car accident victim, an 82-year-old man, was hurt after a 59-year-old Milford man crossed the centerline into the opposite lanes of traffic and collided with the elderly man's 1930 Ford pickup. A third vehicle, driven by a 48-year-old man, rear-ended the truck after the initial collision. The Ford was pressed between the two other vehicles after the crash according to police.

Emergency responders took the Ford driver to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was in good condition and recovering as of July 11 according to a hospital representative. Neither the 59- nor the 48-year-old driver reported any injuries in the crash. Officers issued a citation to the driver from Milford for failing to keep right.

Injured victims of car crashes could face large medical expenses and major losses of income while recuperating. When a driver is believed to have caused a car accident in which someone else is harmed, that injured party may want to file a personal injury lawsuit against the allegedly responsible individual. By reviewing the official accident report and witness accounts, an attorney representing a car accident victim could possibly build a case for a defendant's liability. Additionally, if an allegedly at-fault driver is charged criminally in connection with a crash, a lawyer might use those charges as evidence of driver negligence in a subsequent civil suit.

Plaintiffs of successful personal injury suits are typically awarded pecuniary damages for the financial harm caused to them. That harm can include medical bills, property damage and wages lost due to being rendered unable to work after an accident.
