Massachusetts man arrested after car crash

A Massachusetts man was arrested earlier this week after police said the vehicle he was driving when he was involved in a car accident had been stolen earlier that day.

After the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. this past Tuesday in Hudson, New Hampshire, firefighters had to extricate a 70-year-old Hudson woman from her vehicle. She was then taken to a nearby hospital to have her injuries assessed by physicians.

While the woman was being taken by ambulance to the hospital, police determined that the 2000 Chrysler Concord the Lowell man had been driving had been reported stolen earlier that day in his hometown.

Police said the 19-year-old was driving the Concord east on a street when he collided with the woman's northbound Impala in an intersection.

He was arrested on a charge of felony receiving stolen property. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and for driving without a valid driver's license.

The news report did not indicate if police believe he was at fault in the crash, nor did it give the status of the woman's condition at the hospital.

In an unrelated matter, a person was hospitalized last Friday morning after a car accident involving two northbound vehicles on Interstate 391 near Chicopee, about 90 miles west of Boston.

One person was transported to Springfield's Baystate Medical Center with injuries described as minor.

A driver was to be cited for operating to endanger, a Massachusetts state trooper later said.

Anyone injured in a motor vehicle accident caused by a reckless, careless or distracted driver should speak to an attorney experienced in obtaining for clients compensation for medical expenses, lost wages and pain and suffering.
