Workplace accident claims lives of 2 Massachusetts men

Reading about the recent death of two men from Massachusetts is very distressing and leaves many people wondering about the circumstances of those left behind. Two families are likely facing financial difficulties, along with grief, after the tragic workplace accident. They will have to settle the high costs of funerals and burials, and in addition, they will have to do without the income of the loved one who died.

The employer stated that the men were engaged in routine maintenance. In order to reach the high-tension transmission lines, they were lifted in a mechanical bucket to a height of 100 feet. For reasons unknown, the truck holding the hydraulic truck tipped over.

Both men suffered instant death. The accident is being investigated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and there are still many unanswered questions. It was reported that the ground on which the truck was stationed was solid, and there was no wind on the day of the incident.

Massachusetts residents who have lost loved ones in a workplace accident may wish to obtain information about their legal options related to workers' compensation benefits. When workers are injured or killed in workplace accidents, they (or their surviving family in the case of a fatality) can typically claim benefits from the workers' compensation fund. The benefits would typically cover medical and/or end-of-life expenses, along with survivor benefits for any dependents left behind. No price can be put on the life of a loved one, but the compensation may ease the financial difficulties brought about by the tragic accident.
