Motorcycle-car collision leaves 1 injured in Massachusetts

A motorcyclist reportedly collided with a motorist in Agawam on Nov. 10 around 5:30 p.m. The driver was uninjured, but the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries.

According to authorities, the driver was traveling west when she attempted to make a left turn. It was at this point that she collided with the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist was taken to Baystate Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. His condition was not known on the day of the incident. The investigation into the accident by local and state authorities was ongoing at the time of the report. It was not reported whether factors such as alcohol or distracted driving may have been involved.

In a motorcycle-car collision that results in the motorcyclist getting injured, there are several ways a court of law could find the driver negligent. Accident reconstruction reports showing physical evidence of a driver's illegal or negligent actions as well as eyewitness accounts of the driver being distracted by a cell phone or other device could provide enough evidence for the court to rule in the plaintiff's favor.

If a person is injured in a motorcycle or car accident, they have various legal avenues they can take. A personal injury attorney can try to prove the plaintiff's case by examining police reports, hiring accident recreation specialists to create reports or even testify at a trial and speaking to eyewitnesses that were at the scene. If successful, the plaintiff can recover compensation for accident-related damages such as medical bills, lost wages, property damage and pain and suffering.
