Driver killed in workplace accident

Accidents happen on a daily basis throughout Massachusetts. Some accidents are minor and cause little harm to the individual. However, other accidents produce an entirely different scenario, leaving a family wondering what happened and how to recover from the loss of their loved one. One family is now experiencing this loss due to a recent workplace accident that resulted in the death of a loved one.

Truck drivers often work far from home delivering items oveor a large geographical area. Recently, a 24-year-old truck driver from the other side of the country had delivered his load of water pipes to their destination hundreds of miles away, and he was waiting beside the truck as it was being unloaded. During the unloading process, some of the pipes shifted and came crashing down off the truck. The young driver was caught in the avalanche and crushed.

The driver was transported to a local hospital in Illinois where he was declared dead. This workplace accident took the life of a young man and left his family with not only grief, but medical and funeral expenses as well. While workers' compensation insurance cannot help the family cope with the emotional loss, it can help with the financial one.

Whenever a Massachusetts worker is injured or killed as the result of a workplace accident, workers' compensation insurance is there to provide assistance. However, navigating all the ins and outs of workers' compensation and knowing exactly what benefits are available can be a daunting task. For this reason, consulting with an experienced professional can help maximize the available benefits.
