News: Driver hospitalized after vehicle crashes into Worcester condo complex
WORCESTER, MA – A 24-year-old man was hospitalized, and at least one other person was injured Tuesday when a vehicle slammed into a condominium complex in northeast Worcester.
According to 7 News Boston, the man lost control of his vehicle at about 12 p.m. on Halcyon Drive, causing it to strike a number of pine trees before overturning and crashing into a unit on the first floor of the Halcyon Hill Condominiums. The force of the impact sent a piece of metal from the vehicle through an upstairs window, hitting a woman in the face.
Fortunately, no occupants of the first-floor unit suffered injuries in the crash. However, the unidentified driver was taken to an area hospital and subsequently transferred to the ICU.
Investigators are working to establish an official cause of the crash. Speed is believed to be a factor at this time.
