Multi-Vehicle Blaze on I-195- One person was killed, and a second person was injured in a fiery three-vehicle crash involving two trucks on a Massachusetts highway on Tuesday afternoon. The tragic event, now dubbed the “Multi-Vehicle Blaze on I-195,” occurred around 1:20 p.m. on the westbound side of Interstate 195 in Seekonk, Massachusetts.
First responders and state troopers rushed to the scene. Video from Sky 5 showed a white sheet covering a portion of what appeared to be a burned vehicle in front of a box truck.
The Massachusetts state police are currently investigating the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the crash. They confirmed that a 36-year-old Springfield man driving a 2022 Toyota Highlander was killed in the collision.
A 45-year-old man from North Easton, driving the box truck, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the third vehicle involved, a tractor-trailer operated by a 31-year-old man from Florida, was unharmed.
Photos from the scene depicted the front end of the box truck engulfed in flames and skid marks stretching from the middle lane to the right breakdown lane area. All westbound lanes of Interstate 195 were temporarily closed as crash investigators worked at the scene.
