Reports indicate that the accident happened in September. The victim was the shop manager at 275 Truck Service, a company that services and repairs trucks. The man apparently became trapped under a fire ambulance on which he was working.
His co-workers were able to free the man from underneath the ambulance. Unfortunately, he died at the scene of the accident. In addition to his 4-year-old daughter, the man's wife is due with the couple's second child later this year.
In addition to coping with her grief, this young mother also must face supporting a family of three with only one income. While a victim of a workplace accident is often entitled to workers' compensation insurance benefits, many families in Massachusetts have found that dealing with an insurance company during a time of grief is more than they can handle. Fortunately, an experienced attorney can help guide grieving families through the compensation process, seeking a fair settlement and potentially reducing some of the stress created by an unexpected loss.
