News: Man in wheelchair hospitalized after hit-and-run crash
BRIDGEWATER, MA – A 75-year-old man in a wheelchair was sent to the hospital after he was struck by a female driver in the area of 241 Main Street, who then fled the scene.
This collision occurred before 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, NBC-2 reported. Bridgewater Police said that the suspect was either driving a maroon SUV or crossover vehicle before fleeing the scene.
Bridgewater Police later located the hit-and-run driver when they spotted a vehicle with damage that had matched the description of the suspect’s automobile at the North Main and Matfield Street junction. They had arrested 61-year-old Bonnie Bowes of Bridgewater.
Bowes was charged with “leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury, OUI-drugs causing serious bodily injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage, and marked lanes violation.” She was booked into custody and will appear in court soon.
No other details are available, including the current condition of the 75-year-old man.
