News: A man was killed in a car crash that closed I-93 south in NH near the state line
NBCBoston – A tragic car crash claimed the life of a driver on Interstate 93 in New Hampshire, just north of the Massachusetts border, on February 1, according to authorities. The collision, occurring around 4:25 p.m., resulted in the closure of the southbound lanes in Salem, as reported by New Hampshire State Police.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe failed to decelerate in time to avoid congested traffic, approximately 0.2 miles from the border, colliding with a Chevrolet Trax. Despite firefighters’ attempts at life-saving measures, the Trax driver, identified as 48-year-old Jermaine Adams from Haverhill, Massachusetts, was pronounced dead at the crash site.
The Hyundai Santa Fe driver, 59-year-old William Russel from Merrimack, New Hampshire, emerged from the incident unharmed. As of now, no charges have been announced, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities urge anyone with pertinent information about the car crash to contact investigators at 603-451-9782.
The highway closure persisted for approximately three hours as officials meticulously processed the scene and gathered necessary evidence related to the devastating car crash.
