Man suffers injury in workplace accident

Everything that a person does likely has some degree of risk. Unfortunately, those who work in the construction industry in Massachusetts are likely very familiar with the possibility of injury, or even death, as a result of a workplace accident. In fact, all workers face the potential of injury while completing their job responsibilities, prompting states to require employees to provide workers’ compensation insurance coverage. One out-of-state man may qualify for these benefits after an accident at a construction site sent him to the hospital.

The man was reportedly working on scaffolding approximately 25 feet in the air. Officials say that he was struck by construction materials, causing an injury. The man had to be removed from the scaffolding as a result of the incident.

The extent of the man’s injuries are unclear. However, he was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Many workplace accidents spark an investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

In addition to physical suffering, those who are injured in a workplace accident often face significant financial ramifications as result of medical expenses. Many are also unable to return in the same capacity and/or must miss work while they recover, resulting in a loss of wages. Fortunately, workers’ compensation can cover these and other expenses. However, the path to compensation is sometimes complicated, causing many in Massachusetts to seek guidance from a professional with experience regarding such claims. By having such a person fighting on their side, many have found that they were better prepared to achieve full and fair compensation.
