Massachusetts car accidents: 2 injured in recent crash

On behalf of posted in car accidents on Wednesday December 20, 2017

There may be many different reasons a motor vehicle collision may occur. Often, car accidents happen when a driver fails to take his or her surroundings into account or is otherwise distracted. Two Massachusetts residents were recently injured in a crash that may have been caused by a distracted driver.

Few details of the collision have been released at this time. Reports indicate that the two vehicles involved were traveling in opposite directions shortly before the crash occurred. For reasons that are still unclear, the car in the northbound lane crossed over into the southbound lane, striking the other vehicle head-on.

Local police officers and firefighters responded to the incident. Firefighters worked to remove both drivers from their vehicles, and one driver was extracted with the jaws of life. Both drivers suffered injuries and were transported to the hospital. Part of the street was closed while crews worked to clear the wreckage for about an hour and half.

In addition to the physical and emotional trauma victims may face after an accident, they may also incur significant unexpected medical bills. To help cope with these costs, victims may choose to file personal injury claims in civil court against any party or parties believed to be responsible. When successful, these claims can provide monetary damages that can be used to help pay medical bills and other related expenses. Anyone injured in car accidents could consult experienced Massachusetts personal injury attorneys to learn more about this type of claim and gain assistance in filing.
