News: 1 seriously hurt, 1 killed in 3-vehicle wreck in Attleboro
ATTLEBORO, MA – A 58-year-old man was killed, and a 61-year-old man was seriously hurt in a three-vehicle wreck on I-95 Monday, NBC Boston reported.
Massachusetts State Police said a 50-year-old man from Cranston, Rhode Island, was operating a Buick LaCrosse when he crashed into a Cadillac Escalade. The impact of this collision then led the Cadillac driver – a 61-year-old man from Providence – to strike a Jaguar driven by the 58-year-old man from Foxboro.
The Cadillac driver was sent to Rhode Island Hospital for serious injuries. The Jaguar driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was the Buick driver, who was later identified as Joseph Pompei, 50, who fled the scene. He was later found and charged with “motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation and leaving the scene of a crash causing fatal injuries.” Pompei will be arraigned in Attleboro District Court.
