News: Girl, 5, fatally struck by tractor-trailer in Andover
ANDOVER, MA – A 5-year-old girl’s life was claimed in a pedestrian and tractor-trailer crash after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Elm Street and Main Street. A tractor-trailer struck a girl while she was walking with another child and a woman pushing a baby stroller, according to WCVB.
The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The baby, the other child, and the woman appeared to be unharmed. The 5-year-old girl suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Other pedestrians were hospitalized for unspecified injuries.
A red scooter was seen at the collision site as well, but there is no information regarding what role it played in the crash.
The collision is under investigation.
