News: Officer, driver injured in crash with utility pole in Lowell

LOWELL, MA – A driver of an unspecified vehicle crashed into a police cruiser, leading the officer to collide with a utility pole, injuring both of them in the process Wednesday. 

Boston 25 News said this collision happened before 4 a.m. at the Westford St. and Stevens St. junction in the Highlands neighborhood. The police officer was responding to an emergency call — an alleged fight — when they were hit by the other driver with the sirens on. 

First responders took the officer and the other driver to a hospital for treatment. There was no official word on their condition or what exactly led to this collision.
