News: UPS truck driver fatally strikes cyclist in Newton
NEWTON, MA – A UPS truck driver turned onto Bridge Street from Watertown Street and hit a cyclist who succumbed to fatal injuries Monday.
First responders arrived at the crash site after 5:30 p.m. and said the driver was eastbound on Watertown and the cyclist was westbound on Watertown Street at the time of the collision, WHDH reported.
The cyclist – an unidentified 57-year-old man from Newton – was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he later died.
The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Officials are examining the details of this deadly collision and have not released additional information at this time.
