News: Woman killed in Westboro house fire on Belknap Street
WESTBORO, MA – One life was claimed in a house fire that happened on Belknap Street Monday.
Fire crews were first dispatched to the incident around 1:45 p.m., according to WHDH.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they discovered that propane tanks in or around the home had exploded and that an elderly woman was trapped inside the house.
In addition, flames had already spread to trees behind the home. The immediate cause of the fire is unknown, but officials did confirm that it began in the living room.
The trapped woman succumbed to fatal injuries, and one firefighter sustained minor injuries on his hand. However, he is in stable condition.
