8-Year-Old Boy in Coma with Severe Brain Injuries after Being Shot in the Head in Virginia Beach Home

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Tragedy struck just over 24 hours ago when 8-year-old Landyn Davis, engrossed in video games on his father’s computer, found himself in a dire situation. Now, at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, Landyn is in a medically-induced coma as a result of a bullet that pierced through his head causing severe Brain Injuries.

The harrowing incident unfolded on February 13, while Landyn’s parents, Steven Davis and Emily Rigsby, attended a school wrestling match. A distressing call from their 15-year-old daughter at home revealed the severity of the situation. Racing to Peele Court, they discovered their street surrounded by police, with approximately 20 bullets piercing their home.

Tragically, one of the bullets struck Landyn, who was innocently playing a computer game in his second-floor bedroom. The bullet entered the back of his head, causing severe brain injuries.
