A workplace accident could affect a Massachusetts family
Every day, people all over Massachusetts wake up and get ready to go to work. They eat breakfast, brush their teeth and say goodbye to their loved ones. All this is done without thinking of the possibility that this could be the last time that this routine is followed. The possibility of a workplace accident is usually not a part of the normal morning routine.
The majority of workplace accidents – a sprained ankle or a cut hand – can be considered minor. When these occur, a trip to the emergency room and perhaps a day or two of rest are normally all that is required. Most of the time, these incidents and their repercussions can be resolved without too much difficulty. However, other incidents can cause lasting damage or even death.
Recently, two men in their 40s who worked for an electrical contractor in another state became victims of such an accident. They were in a service bucket approximately 55 feet in the air when the boom holding their bucket failed, causing them to fall to the ground. Neither of the men survived the accident. Although this accident is currently under investigation by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration, nothing can be done to change the outcome for these two men and their families.
A workplace accident can happen without notice. Unfortunately, some of these can have fatal consequences. Massachusetts families who find themselves in this situation will most likely benefit from experienced legal guidance in ensuring that they receive all of the benefits and assistance they are due.
