Car accidents: 2 suffer serious injuries in Massachusetts crash
Most drivers know the importance of being able to drive defensively. These techniques are often taught in driver’s education courses in an attempt to prevent car accidents. Unfortunately, many people are injured in accidents that they were powerless to prevent — such as accidents involving a rear collision. Police in Massachusetts are currently investigating such an accident that sent two people to the hospital.
According to reports, the accident occurred one morning in late August. The 25-year-old driver of all small sport utility vehicle is believed to have struck the car in front of him in the rear. Police say the collision caused a chain reaction of collisions which ultimately involved a total of four vehicles.
Two people, the drivers of the first and second vehicles involved, suffered serious injuries in the collision. The cause of the accident and whether criminal charges are expected to be filed are unclear at this time. However, police are conducting an investigation into the collision.
Car accidents often create physical and financial complications for victims. Medical bills can quickly pile up, and a victim may struggle due to an inability to work. Many victims of accidents caused by another’s negligence choose to pursue recompense in a Massachusetts civil court. A successfully presented case could result in an award of damages that will help a plaintiff cope with medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering. This could allow a victim to focus on a full recovery rather than coping with the stress of his or her financial situation.
