There are some collisions that simply cannot be avoided. Road conditions, for example, could unexpectedly change, creating a hazard. However, many car accidents are simply a matter of driver error. What might appear to be a small miscalculation can ultimately have devastating consequences on the lives of others. Massachusetts police are currently investigating an accident involving a motorcycle that sent three people to the hospital.

The accident happened one Saturday evening in late August. A statement released by the police department claims that the driver of a car ran a red light. As a result, the car allegedly struck a motorcycle with a driver and passenger.

The passenger on the motorcycle suffered injuries serious enough to warrant transport to the hospital by helicopter. Both the drivers were also taken to the hospital. Their conditions and extent of their injuries are unclear at this time. Police are asking that anyone who has additional information regarding the accident contact them.

Car accidents can often change a person’s life. Injuries can prevent a person from returning to work, often creating additional financial stresses for victims who may already be coping with their medical expenses. However, when a person in Massachusetts is injured as a result of another’s negligence — including being struck by a vehicle that failed to obey a traffic light — he or she has the option of seeking recompense in a civil court. A successfully presented case could result in an award of damages that could relieve some the the stress an injured victim is experiencing.
