Fatal car accident claims life of Massachusetts teen

Motor vehicle collisions can happen within seconds. This is why it is so important for drivers to remain aware of their surroundings. Tragically, a Massachusetts teenager was recently involved in a fatal car accident as she was crossing the road.

According to authorities, the young woman was crossing the street during her lunch break. Recent rainy weather made the road slick, causing her to slip as she crossed. Reports indicate that she had crossed the first lane and was attempting to avoid a car coming from the right when she fell. That car then struck her while she was on the ground.

Several witnesses from nearby stores rushed out to help the victim. She had suffered severe head trauma and was transported to a local hospital. Sadly, she passed away from her injuries soon after. Police are continuing to investigate the incident but do not expect to file any criminal charges.

Losing a loved one in this manner is emotionally devastating for families and may also result in sudden unexpected expenses. To help cope with the financial burden, surviving families may choose to explore their legal options such as filing wrongful death claims in civil court against any party or parties believed responsible. When successfully litigated, these claims can provide monetary damages that can be used to help pay medical bills, funeral costs and any other related expenses. Anyone who has lost a family member in a fatal car accident could speak to an experienced Massachusetts attorney for more information.
