People who lose their lives in car accidents likely had no idea when they woke up the morning of the accident that it would be their last. As a result, they likely leave behind unfinished business and family members who are in shock over the unexpected loss. One family in Massachusetts is likely coming to terms with the news that a fatal car accident has taken the life of their loved one.

The accident happened at approximately 9:30 p.m. in one night in mid-July. Police say that a car with a 34-year-old driver crashed into a rock wall before hitting a tree. A passenger in the vehicle, a 30-year-old man, died as a result of the accident.

Although the exact extent of injuries suffered by the driver is unclear, he or she is expected to survive. The driver was transported to the hospital by ambulance. While the accident remains under investigation, some officials speculate that speed may have been a contributing factor.

While the emotional ramifications of a fatal car accident for surviving family members are clear, many people may be unaware of the financial impact of such a loss. Those who lose loved ones in such an unexpected manner often find themselves struggling with medical bills, lost wages and funeral expenses. As a result, many people turn to a Massachusetts civil court to seek relief. A successfully presented wrongful death case could result in not only an award of damages that will remove or lessen the financial uncertainty looming over a victim’s loved ones, but also provide closure for grieving family members.
