Fatal car accident leads to criminal charges in Massachusetts

When driving on the roads of Massachusetts, it is possible that a driver will encounter another driver who does not signal when they changing lanes or who drives too closely. These behaviors can be frustrating, and, in some cases, could result in encounters fueled by road rage. Police believe that road rage may have been the impetus behind a recent fatal car accident.

Police believe that a 67-year-old man was under the influence of alcohol one morning in early November. Witnesses claim that he and the driver of a second pickup truck became engaged in a road rage incident. According to reports, the driver of the first vehicle purposefully came into contact with the second. Both vehicles then attempted to exit the roadway.

Police claim that there was contact between the two vehicles again, causing the second truck to flip. The driver of the second vehicle died at the scene. An occupant of the same truck was partially ejected and transported to the hospital via helicopter. Police claim that the driver of the first vehicle fled the scene, but they were able to locate him based on eyewitness descriptions. He now faces multiple charges including motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.
