Massachusetts police investigate fatal car accident

There are many distractions while driving. Even for those who do not use their cellphones, simply having a passenger in the car could distract the driver from the roadway, resulting in a serious accident. A recent fatal car accident in Massachusetts remains under investigation to determine the exact case of the tragedy.

Reports indicate that the Massachusetts State Police received calls about what was initially described as an injured pedestrian at approximately 3 a.m. one morning in early November. However, it was soon revealed that a car crashed for unknown reasons. A passenger in the car was ejected and struck by six other vehicles.

Unfortunately, the 21-year-old died as a result of the injuries suffered. The 20-year-old driver was also injured and transported to a hospital. One of the occupants in one of the other vehicles involved — a 28-year-old man — was also injured. The road was closed for several hours as police investigated.

There are many accidents that are the result of driver error or other negligence. Unfortunately, the family of the deceased young man will have to cope with the aftermath of this fatal car accident. For many, the aftermath of such an event includes both emotional and financial consequences. While Massachusetts law enforcement authorities will determine what charges — if any — are appropriate in regard to the accident, the family of the victim can also seek justice in a civil court. In addition to providing some degree of closure to grieving relatives, a successfully presented case could also ease the financial stress they may be experiencing as a result of the accident.
