Girl dies after being hit by a car in Massachusetts

A birthday party is supposed to be a celebration of life, when family and friends come together to honor a loved one. Unfortunately, such an event in Massachusetts will likely only be remembered with sadness and grief after a young girl was reportedly hit by a car. The driver of the car has since been arrested and now faces multiple charges.

Witnesses indicate that the driver of the car, a 45-year-old man, failed to stop at a stop sign. As a result, he slammed into two children around 11 p.m. one night. Some claim that the car crashed into a second vehicle and a fence before the man fled the scene.

An 8-year-old girl died, apparently as a result of the injuries she suffered in the accident. A second victim, a 12-year-old boy was also injured. The victims are believed to be related and were attending a birthday party in the area. The suspected driver has since been arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and motor vehicle homicide.

Because of the vast difference in size between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian, a person who is hit by a car often suffers serious, sometimes fatal injuries. In this case, it appears that a young boy is left injured while a family is grieving the loss of a little girl. Unfortunately, bills can quickly add up, creating an additional burden for an already grieving family. For many others in Massachusetts who have found themselves in a similar situation, a successfully presented case in a civil court has resulted in a judgment for financial damages sustained.
