There are many safe and conscientious drivers in Massachusetts. These drivers typically obey traffic laws and attempt to avoid auto accidents. Unfortunately, there are some accidents that a driver simply is unable to prevent, such as many involving a rear-end collision. In one such accident, four people were sent to the hospital.

The accident happened one evening in mid-August. Police reports indicate that a car driven by a 41-year-old man was stopped in the road as the driver waited to make a left turn. As he waited, he was allegedly struck from behind by a vehicle driven by a 22-year-old woman.

The force of the collision caused the first vehicle to flip, and one of the occupants of the second vehicle had to be extricated by emergency responders. Two occupants in the first vehicle as well as two from the second were transported to an area hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries and their current conditions are unclear. The accident, which remains under investigation, resulted in the closure of the road for several hours.

Auto accidents such as this can cause both physical and financial damage to victims. In addition to medical bills, the two occupants of the first vehicle may also have to miss work, resulting in lost wages, as they recover. A successfully navigated personal injury lawsuit could ultimately result in an award of monetary damages that may help the victims of this Massachusetts accident cope with the bills and other financial losses associated with the collision.
