Massachusetts car accidents: Tow truck driver hit by speeding car

Tow truck drivers have dangerous jobs. Many essentially risk their lives in order to help those involved in car accidents or suffering from car trouble. The accident happened during the early morning hours of a day in August. According to reports, a 33-year-old tow truck driver was in the breakdown lane of Interstate 495 due to a disabled vehicle. While he was working, he was apparently struck by a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old man. The victim’s employer claims that the trucker was a veteran driver.

Unfortunately, he suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision. While the driver of the sedan and his 32-year-old male passenger were also transported to a hospital for treatment, the extent of their injuries and current conditions are unclear. Although the incident remains under investigation, witnesses claim that speed contributed to the collision.

According to the driver’s employer, the victim has three children. His injuries likely leave the family in a precarious financial situation. While he may be entitled to workers’ compensation, a personal injury lawsuit could also result in an award of damages that will allow him and his family to cope with the financial ramifications created by his hospital stay and lost wages.
