On behalf of posted in car accidents on Tuesday October 17, 2017

Commercial trucks are a vital part of many businesses and account for a significant number of the vehicles regularly traveling on roadways. However, due to their size, these trucks can cause serious injuries when they are involved in car accidents. A Massachusetts woman was recently hurt in such an incident.

Few details of the crash have been released at this time. Reports indicate that a semi truck and a car collided, though officials are still investigating what factors led to the collision. The crash appeared to have also knocked down a nearby utility pole, which fell on top of both vehicles.

According to officials, the commercial truck rolled on top of the car, causing extensive damage to both vehicles. The driver of the car was pinned inside, but was freed by emergency responders. The driver was taken to the hospital, though the extent of the injuries has not been revealed. No injuries were reported from the truck driver.

When a person is injured in such an accident, he or she may be entitled to file a personal injury claim in civil court against a driver believed to be responsible as well as the driver’s employer when he or she was working at the time of the incident. These types of claims, when successfully navigated, can provide plaintiffs with monetary damages that can be used to pay for medical bills or any other related expenses. Those injured in car accidents can consult experienced Massachusetts personal injury attorneys to learn more about these claims as well as gain assistance in filing them.
