Massachusetts man suffers workplace injury

Traumatic brain injuries are something that many believe only individuals suffer as the result of military duty, a car accident or even playing sports. As one is getting up and going to work, the possibility of suffering a traumatic brain injury while on the job doesn’t seem likely. However, for one Massachusetts man, this was recently the case as he suffered a workplace injury that resulted in such an injury.

Witnesses indicate that several men were removing large pieces of glass from a flatbed truck. Suddenly, one of the men realized that a piece of the glass was about to fall, and he alerted his team. However, everything happened so quickly that the injured worker was not able to move in time. The glass fell on him, causing critical injury. A medical airlift was called for; however, because of the deteriorating weather conditions, he had to taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

On the surface, this appears to be a simple accident. Something slipped, it fell on someone and that someone was injured. However, to that individual and his family, it is more than an accident — it is a possible life changing event. The type of injury he received is not one from which an individual normally recovers from within a day or two.

Unfortunately, accidents such as this one do occur throughout Massachusetts. In a situation like this one, the victim and his family will want to make sure that they receive all of the workers’ compensation benefits to which they are entitled. Experienced legal counsel can assist the individual suffering from the workplace injury  in navigating the sea of paperwork and legalities that will present themselves.
