Massachusetts pedestrian suffers serious injuries in car crash
Some motor vehicle accidents can be trivial. When pedestrians are involved, however, collisions are often much more dangerous and result in serious injuries. One Massachusetts pedestrian is lucky to be alive after getting hurt in a recent crash.
According to police, the driver was traveling south in the left lane when his vehicle hit the victim. Reports show that the pedestrian came into contact with the hood and lower windshield of the car. The force of the impact sent the victim airborne, where he then landed in the northbound lane. Further details of the accident have not yet been released.
The victim reportedly suffered serious injuries, though officials did not elaborate on the man’s specific injuries. Emergency medical services responded and treated him at the scene. He is now said to be in stable condition. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash. No citations have been issued at this time.
Whenever someone suffers serious injuries in a car accident, whether as a pedestrian or occupant of a vehicle, he or she may be entitled to file a personal injury claim in civil court against the party believed to be at fault. If the claim successfully proves negligence on behalf of the defendant, the plaintiff could then receive monetary damages that could be used to help pay for medical bills and any other related financial expenses. Anyone interested in learning more about such claims could consult an experienced Massachusetts personal injury attorney for more information and for assistance in filing a claim.
