On behalf of posted in Pedestrian Accidents on Tuesday October 10, 2017

Car accidents involving pedestrians rarely produce favorable results. Many pedestrians tragically suffer severe injuries or even death when hit by a car. One young boy was injured and another killed in a recent accident in Massachusetts.

According to police, the two boys were crossing the street at the time of the collision. As they crossed, they were struck by a car. Authorities reported that the driver of that vehicle fled the scene following the accident. Police are currently still investigating the events leading up to the crash.

After being taken to the hospital, one of the boys sadly passed away as a result of the injuries he suffered. The other boy was also injured, but is expected to recover. The driver of the car has since been arrested. He has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

When victims are injured in car accidents, they may be entitled to file personal injury claims in civil court against the drivers believed to be responsible. Similarly, deceased victims’ surviving families may be entitled to file wrongful death claims. These types of claims can provide plaintiffs with monetary damages that can be used to help pay for medical bills, funeral costs and any other related expenses when defendants are successfully proved negligent. Any pedestrians who have been hit by a car or who have lost loved ones in such a manner could consult experienced Massachusetts personal injury attorneys for more information about these types of claims and for assistance in filing them.
