News UPDATE: State Police ID 2 killed in Webster wrong-way crash
WEBSTER, MA – Massachusetts State Police have confirmed the identities of the two drivers who lost their lives in a wrong-way crash on I-395 South Saturday.
An NBC Boston report revealed the collision happened before 10:30 a.m. when the GMC Sierra Pickup truck driver — 31-year-old Jordan Pimentel, an Auburn resident — had (for reasons unclear) driven north on a left lane on I-395 South, leading him to collide head-on with a 2012 Honda CRV SUV driven by 35-year-old Kayla Morey, a Dayville, Connecticut resident.
Officials declared Morey and Pimentel dead at the scene. Then, they towed away their vehicles from the crash site.
State Police have begun an investigation and have yet to confirm if speed, tiredness, distracted driving, impairment, or another factor played a role in this fatal wreck.
