On behalf of posted in Commercial Vehicle Accidents on Saturday August 17, 2013

A crash involving multiple vehicles can be catastrophic and often results in several injuries. This was the case recently in Massachusetts when a box truck was involved in a collision with three other cars. Nine people sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital in Hyannis. Police in Eastham recently released the details of the crash.

The wreck took place at around 6:40 p.m. on a recent Tuesday evening. According to reports, a woman in a sedan was attempting to make a left hand turn onto Route 6 when she collided with a box truck heading southbound. The impact forced both vehicles into the northbound lanes, where they smashed into two additional vehicles: a minivan and a station wagon.

Eastham Police responded to the scene and called for ambulances from five nearby towns to come and transport the injured to Hyannis. The injuries of the victims range from minor to critical, though police did not release any information about the condition of each individual involved. Officers are continuing the investigation with the help of the Wellfleet Police Department and the Cape Cod Regional Crash Reconstruction Team.

It was not reported whether anyone will be cited or charged in this car crash. However, those who suffered injuries may wish to examine their legal options under the personal injury laws of Massachusetts. Any citations or charges issued can be used as evidence that the injuries were caused by the negligence of another. If the victims are awarded compensation, it may help them alleviate any financial hardships resulting from the accident so they can move on with their lives.
