Two buses and a car, only four minor injuries

What happens when two buses and a car are involved in a three vehicle accident? Well, if you’re lucky like those involved in the incident in Rochester, Massachusetts, not much. Normally, when reporting an accident involving two buses and a car, one would expect extensive damage. However, in this instance, only four minor injuries were sustained among the 40 plus individuals involved.

According to police, a teenage driver lost control of her car when driving past a school lot as school was letting out for the day. The car apparently went off the side of the road briefly and in correcting the mistake, the teenager crossed the middle divider into the opposite lane where the car hit both a cement post and steel guard rail causing the three vehicle accident.

Seeing the car coming towards the bus, the first bus driver slammed on the brakes in order to avoid a collision and while it managed to not hit the car, the bus behind it rear ended the first bus. Three of the 25 students on the first bus sustained minor injuries and were transported to Tobey hospital in Wareham. The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital but also only suffered minor injuries despite the collisions. Police issued a citation to the teenage driver for failing to stay within marked lanes.

Often times with motor vehicle accidents injuries are not immediately felt.
