There are some incidents so horrible that they are difficult to fathom. Unfortunately, reports indicate that one woman in Massachusetts has recently gone through such an experience. Police claim that she was dragged for three miles after she was hit by a car.

The incident happened during the early morning hours of a day in early February. Police say that a sports utility vehicle driven by a 44-year-old woman struck a married couple as they walked in Massachusetts. The 56-year-old man was reportedly found near the scene of the collision. While he suffered serious injuries, he is expected to survive.

Unfortunately, police received reports regarding a second victim several miles away. The man’s 48-year-old wife was allegedly dragged almost three miles from the scene of the initial collision onto the highway. She suffered severe injuries but was alive at the time. The driver of the SUV has since been arrested and faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident that caused injury. A court has ordered her not to drive and to surrender her passport.

It is difficult to understand what this couple must be experiencing as a result of the injuries they suffered as a result of being hit by a car in Massachusetts. They likely have a long road to recovery ahead of them. Often victims of accidents such as this face an uncertain financial future as a result of medical bills and lost wages. However, they have the option of filing a civil suit. If negligence can be proved, they could receive an award of damages that will ensure they do not suffer financially as they focus on their physical recovery.
