Woman killed while crossing street

A pedestrian in Massachusetts was reportedly struck by multiple cars as she was attempting to cross the street on Oct. 4. Police in Springfield have identified the victim as a 23-year-old woman. After being hit by two vehicles, she was taken to an area hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries.

The fatal pedestrian accident took place around 8:50 p.m. when the woman was reportedly hit by a westbound vehicle. According to investigators, the impact of the collision caused the victim to land in the eastbound lane of the street, where another vehicle then ran her over.

Police reported that both drivers involved in the fatal accident stopped at the accident scene. The motorists were not facing any charges at the time of the report, but the investigation was still ongoing two days after the incident. Initial reports indicated that investigators believe low visibility and wet road conditions may have been factors that led to the fatal crash.

Someone who has been injured in a pedestrian accident that was not caused by their own actions may wish to file a personal injury claim against the driver or drivers who were involved. A civil claim may be filed against a driver regardless of whether or not the driver is facing criminal charges.
