The holidays often mean traveling for many families, and this can also mean congested highways across the nation. Although flying is usually the quickest option for long-distance travel, many families decide to drive to their family Christmas celebrations. Holiday traffic mixed with the negligence of many drivers can create very dangerous situations that can end in tragedy. Unfortunately, a car accident in Massachusetts recently sent more than one person to the hospital.

The accident occurred in the late afternoon on Dec. 22 and involved two different motor vehicles. The accident took place on Interstate 91 when the two cars collided on the exit ramp while they were getting off the interstate. The two drivers were both transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance.

Luckily, neither one of the individual’s injuries were life-threatening. The accident closed the exit ramp for a short time while Massachusetts police cleaned up the area. This caused traffic to be backed up on the interstate after the accident. The cause of the accident was not stated.

Once police find out which motorist was at fault, the victim of the car accident may have the right to seek monetary compensation. If compensation is awarded by the Massachusetts judicial system it could be used by the person to pay for any medical bills that they received because of the accident. This would hopefully allow the person to be on the road again as soon as possible and allow them to enjoy the holidays with their family instead of worrying about new bills.
