On behalf of posted in car accidents on Monday September 28, 2015

The vast majority of drivers in Massachusetts are committed to taking steps to ensure their behavior does not result in an accident. Unfortunately, some safe drivers are involved in car accidents when they do not have time to react to the negligent acts of another. For example, reports indicate that a recent accident involving a motorcycle was caused by a motorcyclist who pulled out in front of another vehicle.

The accident happened one day in September. Reports indicate that a 46-year-old motorcyclist pulled out in front of a car driven by a 53-year-old man. Police believe that this action caused the car to strike the motorcycle.

Unfortunately, a passenger on the motorcycle, a 49-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries to her leg in the collision. Both people on the motorcycle were transported to the hospital for treatment. The motorcyclist now faces several charges as a result of the collision, including driving on a suspended license. While the investigation into the incident is ongoing, police have said that they do not believe that drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.

As many victims of car accidents in Massachusetts are aware, injuries often require a great deal of medical treatment, resulting in medical bills and related expenses. Meanwhile, many victims are left unable to work, further complicating their financial situation. If a person was injured due to another’s negligence, he or she has the option of filing a personal injury lawsuit. A case that is successfully presented could ultimately lead to a monetary award that will allow the victim to cope with medical bills and other financial losses stemming from an accident.
