Fatal car accident in Massachusetts kills 1 man

On behalf of posted in Fatal Motor Vehicle Accidents on Wednesday January 1, 2014

Two of the most dangerous places on the Interstate are the entrance and the exit ramps. The rapid acceleration and deceleration that are required to safely navigate these locations can sometimes be very hard to achieve, and when they are not achieved tragic accidents can follow. These accidents can seriously injure or even kill the individuals who are involved. One such fatal car accident took the life of an elderly man in Massachusetts.

The accident occurred when a man who was 84 years old was t-boned by a pickup truck while driving his car at the intersection of an exit ramp for Interstate 91. Emergency personnel arrived at the accident and used the Jaws of Life to get the man out of his vehicle. The two drivers were both conscious immediately after the accident and were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The elderly victim was pronounced dead soon after he arrived at the hospital. The other driver was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. The intersection was closed while the police investigated the accident and it was later cleaned up. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

The family of the deceased victim of the fatal car accident may seek monetary compensation for the loss of life. Their right to seek compensation is not dependent on the findings of the Massachusetts police. Compensation could be used to pay for any final expenses of the man. Although money will never replace the life of a loved one, it can help relieve some of the stress that the family sometimes feels after an incident of this type.
