Massachusetts auto accidents: Tires cause serious injury

On behalf of posted in car accidents on Monday March 2, 2015

Millions of people take to the country’s roadways every day. Many are committed to safety and follow traffic laws and safety guidelines. These drivers can respond to a threat on the roadways in a way that will allow them to avoid an accident caused by the negligent actions of another party. Unfortunately, there are some auto accidents that even the best drivers cannot avoid. For example, one driver in Massachusetts was seriously injured after tires crashed through a windshield.

The accident happened in February. According to police reports, the rear axle of a tractor-trailer became loose. As a result, the tires flew off, striking the windshield of a nearby sedan.

The driver of that car reportedly suffered serious injuries. While a passenger in the sedans was also impacted, the severity of his or her injuries is unclear at this time. Police say that the accident is still being investigated and have only released a few details.

Unfortunately, anyone who has received treatment at a hospital likely knows of the expenses that can quickly incur, even for relatively minor procedures. Many injured in auto accidents require extensive care and multiple, invasive procedures. Some victims of accidents caused by another’s negligence choose to seek relief from such expenses by filing a personal injury claim in a civil court. If negligence can be proved, a Massachusetts court could order that damages be paid to cover medical bills, lost wages and other damages in accordance with state laws. This will allow a person who has suffered serious injuries to focus on their recovery instead of their financial situation.
