Massachusetts car accidents: Collision sends 7 to hospital

On behalf of posted in car accidents on Thursday February 26, 2015

The vast majority of people who get into the drivers’ seats of cars know the rules of the road and are willing to obey them. Their goals, beyond arriving at their destinations, are to ensure their personal safety, as well as the safety of those around them by avoiding car accidents. Unfortunately, some people may not be as diligent. Even a split second of distraction to change the radio station or glance at a phone can cause a devastating accident. Police in Massachusetts are still investigating an accident that sent seven people to the hospital.

The accident involved four cars. Police were called to the scene just before 9 p.m. one night in mid-February. The accident caused the closure of a Massachusetts road for several hours while the accident was cleared and police began their investigation.

Police say that seven people required medical attention as a result of the accident. The severity of the injuries suffered is unclear. Because they are still investigating the accident, police have not yet released the identities of those injured in the accident.

Many details regarding this accident are unclear. While car accidents are caused by a variety of different reasons, those who were injured or lost loved ones as the result of other drivers’ negligence have legal options available to help hold the negligent parties responsible. If negligence can be proved, those injured in accidents — or family members of deceased victims — could receive awards of damages as allowed by Massachusetts law to help ease the financial ramifications of such accidents.
