Pedestrians are always at risk of being involved in an accident when they walk near a road, but when a driver is under the influence of alcohol, it can put the pedestrian at an even greater risk. Accidents involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian can often leave the pedestrian seriously injured because of his or her lack of protection against the vehicle. Unfortunately, one pedestrian accident in Massachusetts recently left a man injured.

The accident took place on April 17 when a man was supposedly struck by a vehicle. Police stated that it is suspected that the woman who was driving the car was under the influence of alcohol when she hit the pedestrian. Emergency personnel arrived at the scene of the accident soon after it occurred and treated the man for injuries before rushing him to the hospital.

The current condition of the man is unknown at this time, but he was listed in critical condition when he arrived. The woman driving the car was not injured in the accident. Massachusetts police are currently investigating the accident, and the driver of the car was arrested and charged with a slew of different violations involving the accident.

Regardless of whether the woman is found guilty for the charges brought against her, the victim of the pedestrian accident may have the right to seek monetary compensation. This could be used to help pay any of the victim’s hospital bills. Hopefully the victim will be able to focus on recovering and slowly returning to his normal routine.
