News: 2-car crash on Truman Parkway in Hyde Park claims one life
HYDE PARK, MA – One person died, and one was hospitalized after a crash between a Volkswagen Beetle and Hyundai Sonata on Truman Parkway Wednesday night.
NBC Boston said that based on a preliminary report, before midnight, a driver of the Beetle lost control of his car, which caused the Beetle to rotate and go over several lanes before a driver of a Sonata hit it.
The driver of the Sonata was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.
Massachusetts State Police said they found several beer cans inside the Volkswagen, although it is unclear if the driver – a 54-year-old man from Norwood – was impaired before he suffered fatal injuries. His name has not been released.
All travel lanes reopened by 4 a.m. Thursday.
