Teen driver accidents: 3 teens hospitalized after accident

Teenagers have relatively little experience driving on Massachusetts roadways. As a result, there are many precautions taken in order to help prevent teen driver accidents. The accident happened at approximately 10:30 p.m. one night in early May. Witnesses claim that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed on the wrong side of the road prior to the accident. According the reports, the car struck a utility pole before catching fire.

All three occupants, including the 17-year-old driver and two 16-year-old passengers, were transported to an area hospital for treatment. While they are expected to survive, their conditions are unclear. Police also claim they discovered a small quantity of marijuana of the car, but it is unclear if the driver was under the influence at the time of the accident. The accident remains under investigation, and the driver could face several charges.
