A recycling center can be a valuable asset in the community where it is located as it provides an opportunity to help reduce the waste that winds up in local landfills. Unfortunately, it can also be a hazardous work environment and lead to a serious workplace accident. Massachusetts Turnpike crash kills 2

Two passengers died when their vehicle was struck by a pickup truck on the Massachusetts Turnpike on Jan. 1. The accident occurred at approximately 3 a.m. in Westborough. According to the Massachusetts State Police, five people were slowly driving eastbound on the highway in a Honda Accord with a flat tire when their vehicle was clipped by a Dodge Ram pickup truck towing a trailer. The collision caused the Honda to overturn. Two people riding in the Honda, an 18-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Massachusetts crash involving semi truck kills 1, injures 1

Officers with the Massachusetts State Police reported that a car accident on Dec. 23 left one person dead and one person with serious injuries. The crash reportedly occurred on the Massachusetts Pike at approximately 1:40 p.m. and involved a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. The crash occurred near the 79 mile marker in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90. One of the vehicles involved in the initial incident was a 2011 Toyota Camry that was being driven by a 60-year-old man from Maine.
