Quincy hit-and-run accident injures 2 pedestrians

Imagine that you are driving somewhere in Quincy late at night. Imagine that you look down briefly while driving and then when you look up there are two men right in front of your truck. You don’t have time to stop and you hit them. What would happen next?

It was reported that the two men were crossing Hancock Street and Walter Hannon Parkway near Quincy Center at about 1:10 in the early morning when they were hit by a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck did not stop to render aid.

There were witnesses at the scene of the accident that describe the pickup truck as dark in color. It was apparently missing a headlight and could have possibly been a Ford. The police are asking for help locating the pickup truck.

The two men were both injured when they were struck. The 48-year-old man is in critical condition at Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The 28-year-old man is good condition at Tufts Medical Center.

It seems obvious that running into these two men would not be something that the pickup truck driver could have failed to notice. Should the Quincy police department locate the driver, he or she could be charged with leaving the scene of an accident and perhaps other charges. The driver could also be considered negligent and considered liable for the personal injuries suffered by the two men.

Should the 48-year-old man succumb to his injuries, the pickup truck driver could be held liable for the wrongful death of the pedestrian.
