On behalf of posted in Motorcycle Accidents on Friday October 19, 2012

Sharpners Pond Road from the Google map aerial view looks like a fun road to ride for a motorcyclist. It winds gently through wooded neighborhoods. At the intersection of Sharpners Pond Road and Highway 114, he was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck and succumbed to his injuries. On behalf of posted in Motorcycle Accidents on Wednesday October 10, 2012

There is a bumper sticker you may have seen on cars around Suffolk County. It reads: "Start Seeing Motorcycles." The problem with riding a motorcycle, as any biker will tell you, is not the bike -- it is the cars and trucks. The wisdom of that warning was brought home recently when a motorcycle and BMW SUV collided in an intersection. As is typical with most motorcycle accidents, the biker was seriously injured and the driver and passenger in the SUV were not. The SUV and motorcycle crash took place during rush hour in Natick. The crash took place in…

Boston area motorcycle accidents claim 1 life, injure 4

On behalf of posted in Motorcycle Accidents on Friday August 24, 2012

It is not difficult to understand how an accident involving a car and a motorcycle can result in serious injuries for the biker. There is little protection other than a helmet, which some do not wear, and leather clothing. According to the Center for Disease and Prevention Control, the highest death and injury rate for motorcyclists is among 20-29 year-olds, followed by 40-54 year-olds. Separate motorcycle accidents in the Boston area resulted in one death and four injured persons, some seriously. There is more biking season left before winter arrives in full force, so more motorcycle accidents are a very…

A 61-year-old motorcyclist was flown to Boston Medical Center after he was in a collision with a car that failed to yield. The accident took place in the intersection of Route 121A and Pillsbury Road in Sandown. Among serious bikers, there is a saying that it is not "if" you will get in an accident, it is "when" you will be in an accident. A serious biker will tell you that there is a well-deserved lack of trust for the behavior of motorists who often miss motorcycles in their blind spots or make driving errors that cause the motorcyclist to…

On behalf of posted in Motorcycle Accidents on Tuesday August 7, 2012

Typically when a car and a motorcycle are involved in an accident, the motorcyclist is the driver with more serious injuries, but is not the one who caused the accident. Recently on Pine Hills, just outside of Manomet, a motorcyclist lost control of his bike and was in a collision with a sedan. In this case, the motorcyclist seems to have caused the accident that resulted in serious personal injuries for the biker, and less serious injuries for the driver of the sedan. The accident reportedly took place at about 7:15 in the evening. Prior to the accident, a police…

In Massachusetts, we value our rights and responsibilities as citizens. When a wrong is done to us, we expect that somehow it will be made right. For the parents of a man killed in a motorcycle accident, there may be no sense of justice being served. The man charged with these crimes was reported to be in…
