Pedestrian accident leaves Massachusetts family without loved one
Crosswalks were designed to give pedestrians safe places where they could cross roads. When in a crosswalk in Massachusetts, pedestrians generally have the right-of-way. In order to avoid a pedestrian accident, drivers are supposed to stop and allow pedestrians to safely cross. In mid-October, a 65-year-old man became the latest pedestrian victim who was struck while attempting to cross the road at a crosswalk. Apparently the gentleman and another man had just gotten off a bus and were crossing in the crosswalk. Both men were struck when a driver failed to stop for them.
